Collaboration scores a home run
In early 2015, Garrett Rosh, ticket sales executive for the Indianapolis Indians and a 2011 PETM graduate, helped launch a sales training initiative with the School of Physical Education and Tourism Management’s Sports Management program. Borrowing a term from baseball, the effort was a home run—a real win for everyone involved.
Collaborating with Assistant Professor David Pierce, Ph.D., the Indians ticket sales team hosted real-world sales training for approximately 30 IUPUI students. In an effort resembling on-the-job training, students in Dr. Pierce’s sales training course phoned prospects to sell season ticket packages.
