Major in Sports Management

The Sports Management track is for students who want to make their mark on the business side of the sports industry.

You'll study in the Amateur Sports Capital of the World, home to six professional sports franchises, several Olympic governing bodies, the NCAA, and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Students work directly with these and other organizations before they graduate, interning with professional and amateur sports teams and solving real-life business problems.

In addition to the bachelor's degree, you'll earn a business minor or certificate from the Kelley School of Business.

The field of sports analytics is booming. You'll learn to use data analytics (or data science) to study the performance of players, coaches, and officials on the field to better manage decision making (as made famous by the book and film Moneyball), or in the board room to make more informed business decisions.

The School of Physical Education and Tourism Management and the School of Informatics and Computing have teamed up to offer the B.S. Sports Management + M.S. Sports Analytics.
