Students and faculty in the Department of Kinesiology partnered with the North Central Indiana Area Health Education Center (AHEC) to host the inaugural Kinesiology Careers Day Camp. The event presented local high school students with hands-on activities in exercise science technology, sports medicine, exercise physiology, and strength and conditioning.
The Indiana AHEC Network works to improve the quality of health care by recruiting, educating, and retaining healthcare professionals for underserved communities. Janiece Stover, a 1998 graduate of the School of Physical Education and Tourism Management, serves as Program Coordinator for North Central Indiana AHEC. Stover approached the Department of Kinesiology about the need for hands-on programming for students interested in exercise science, athletic training and kinesiology.
