Biography

Dr. Godwin Charles Ogbeide is an Associate Professor in the Department of Tourism, Conventions, and Event Management (TCEM). He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with both his BS and MS degrees with emphasis in Hotel and Restaurant Management, and a PhD with emphasis in Hospitality Administration and Leadership Development. He also has an M.B.A. degree with over 25 years’ experience in the hospitality and Tourism industry. He is an active member and leader of many professional organizations, active board member of various non-for-profit organizations, published author, public speaker, and winner of numerous international as well as national awards including teaching excellence, research excellence and innovation awards.

His research interests are in the areas of Hospitality and Tourism Leadership, Destination Competitive Advantage Strategy, Hospitality Complaint Management, as well as the implications of leadership policies and marketing strategies on stakeholders’ behavior and satisfaction in the hospitality and tourism industries.
