The School of Physical Education and Tourism Management manages a variety of academic, community, service-learning and affiliate programs. Each program is designed to facilitate learning in nontraditional classroom settings.
For example, both the Motor Activity Clinic and Fit for Life programs employ service-learning as a teaching technique. IUPUI students, overseen by university educators, provide low-cost wellness and physical education services to low-income populations and children with disabilities.
The military science department’s curriculum delivers military training to cadets who simultaneously participate in leadership and team-building exercises. Students pursue various undergraduate degrees then complete the military science program requirements through active service.
The Midwest Cultural Tourism Conference brings industry leaders and community organizations from throughout the midwest together in a forum designed for learning, networking, dialog, and information sharing, all for the benefit of economic development.
Our other programs include Camp Brosius and the IUPUI moving company, enhancing our offerings to students, alumni, and the community.
